About me...

I have a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature, an MA in Publishing, and more than 30 years' experience working in the publishing industry.

I was Commissioning Editor for Macmillan Publishers and Editorial Manager for Oxford University Press. My freelance clients include Penguin-Random House, Harper Collins, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, York Press, Magic Cat, Hatriqa, Cengage (National Geographic) and individual authors (published and self-published). Since 2016, I have been Series Editor for PRH's Ladybird and Penguin graded readers series.

I am highly organised and clear sighted, with a long track record of delivering high-quality manuscripts on time. I have written and edited numerous educational adaptations including* Slumdog Millionnaire, The Godfather, White Teeth, Brick Lane, The Talented Mr Ripley, Me Before You and The Night Manager. I have also worked on famous children's brands such as Peppa Pig, The Moomins, My Little Pony, Roald Dahl, Topsy and Tim, BBC Earth and BBC Dynasties.

As an author of trade fiction, I have been represented under contract by three top literary agents (Sheil Land, Curtis Brown and David Higham Associates). My first novel The River Woman was published in 2011 Sir Michael Parkinson called it 'a fascinating story told by a very promising writer'. My second novel Broken Shadows was published in February 2024 and is currently scoring 70% 5-star reviews on Amazon/4.6 on Goodreads.

I love working with authors and publishers, helping them to develop their ideas into high-quality manuscripts. I am also (I like to think!) easy going, adaptable and fun to work with.

*please note that many of my educational titles are published under my pen name of Anna Trewin.
